London Terror Attack: After Indonesia and Manchester Terror Attack, Twin Terror strikes shook the heart of the British capital London on Saturday night. Six people died and at least 30 were injured in twin terror strikes. The first attack at 10:08 pm, terrorists drove a white colored van with a full speed on the sidewalk near the London Bridge and rammed pedestrians in an uncontrolled manner. After this, a long wide man with a long knife in his hand got out at the nearby Borough Market at the south end of the bridge and stabbed several people in the bustling tourist hub.
According to eyewitnesses, Police arrived in eight minutes and started firing indiscriminately on suspects. All three terrorists were killed in this. Apart from this, it has been decided to keep London Bridge closed for the whole night. Police officers appealed to people to share as much information, photographs and videos about this attack. The patrol team is doing search operations across the streets of London.
Mark Rowley(Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner) said we believe that six people have died in addition to the three attackers shot dead by police. And at least 30 injured people have been taken to the hospitals across London.
Italian photographer Gabriele Sciotto, who was present at the Wheatsheaf pub in Borough Market, clicked a picture of a man wearing combat trousers, with a shaved head and what looked like a belt with canisters attached to it could be seen on the ground with two more bodies behind him in London Terror Attack. According to eyewitnesses, police locked them inside pubs and restaurants and had to step out with their hands on their heads.
British Prime Minister Theresa May described the incidents as a ‘potential act of terrorism’. Ms May will hold an emergency Cobra meeting later today.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who will also attend the emergency meeting, said, “I am in close contact with the Met Commissioner and senior officers and am being kept updated on all developments.”
London Bridge Station is closed and the authorities are asking people to avoid the area. Police have asked locals and tourists to avoid London Bridge and Borough Market.
US President Donald Trump tweeted, “Whatever the United States can do to help out in London and the U. K., we will be there – WE ARE WITH YOU. GOD BLESS!” He also tweeted,”We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!”
