Chinese smartphone Company OnePlus is going to launch its much-awaited flagship OnePlus 5 on June 22. According to latest reports, the Oneplus smartphone will be available in two variants with the price tags of Rs 32,999 and 37,999. The phone would be launched with variants of storage and RAM. The base model will have 64GB/6GB at Rs 32,999 and upper variant will have128GB/8GB at Rs 37,999.
OnePlus 5, the company has skipped number ‘4’ in its smartphone series, as number 4 is considered unlucky in its home country China. OnePlus 5 is a successor to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. It is rumoured to feature a dual rear camera setup and includes Snapdragon 835 processor, a 16MP front camera, and a 5.5-inch display.
Recently, a teaser image posted on microblogging site Twitter by OnePlus showed that the OnePlus 5 smartphone would have dual rear cameras placed horizontally at the top left of the device. It also revealed that the upcoming smartphone might offer black as a color option.
Amazon and Oneplus have been partners since the time in India. After 22nd June onwards OnePlus 5 will be available as an Amazon exclusive. The Oneplus 5 with 6 GB ram is also expected at a price point fo Rs 32,999an the 8GB RAM version could be sold at Rs 37,999. Amazon will also put up a promotion page for OnePlus 5.
OnePlus has been promoting the upcoming flagship device through creative tweets and images on other social media websites. Except CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the device would use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, not so much information has been published yet about the device.
Pete, who did not seem to be willing to wait until the official launch of the device, had on Wednesday taken to Weibo, the Chinese counterpart of Twitter, to share a photograph purportedly clicked using OnePlus 5. The photography was posted with a message — “What a purely clear sky! See you at 10:00 am tomorrow. Good night.” – that suggests some more announcements might be coming from OnePlus before the actual launch date.
